The story of Seljalandsfoss

Here is a waterfall you can walk behind. A path leads into a small cave behind the falling water, so you can watch Seljalandsfoss from the inside out.
The Seljalandsá river begins at the volcano glacier Eyjafjallajökull and here drops about 60 metres, by some measurements 62. A flood in 1976 cut a notch in the cliff edge, so the fall no longer spreads out as widely as it once did. It was once given as an example of a waterfall over an old sea-eroded cliff.
In May 2017, plans for an information centre near the falls, 8 metres high and covering 2,000 square metres, sparked controversy; opponents said it would spoil the view. In the 1990 film The Juniper Tree, Björk's character walks behind this waterfall, and it also appears in Justin Bieber's video for I'll Show You and in Star Trek: Discovery.
